The temple has been constructed in the traditional South Indian Style of Architecture. Mostly in Tamil Nadu temples, Raja Gopuram is found in the eastern side of the temple. But, in this Murugan Temple, it is spotted in the western side. The main entrance to this temple faces south. Western tower, also known as Mela Gopuram, is measured as 130 ft tall and has 9 stoteys with 9 kalasams at its top. In the front of main temple, shanmugha Vilasa mandapam is seen. A small temple for God Vinayaga named Tundugai Vinayar temple is situated near Murugan temple. There are totally three prakarams found in the temple. Temple for siddhi Vinayaga peruman is spotted in the first prakaram. While moving towards west, you can able to see 108 SivaLinga that are identifed as “108 Mahadevars”. There is also a separate shrine for Arunagirinathar who is the author of Thiruppugazh. On moving to north, a tall-sized vallapa Vinayagar is seen facing west direction. Going to north end, Perumal Sannidhi is found on the eastern side. There is a Santhanasala Rock where people can worship lord Vishnu in a lying posture along with Goddes Gajalakshmi by his side. On the southern side, a shrine for Kalyana Vinayagar and Kodi maram made of Copper are found. Moving towards west is Lord Dakshina Murthi temple and there is an individual sannidhi for Goddess Valliammai at the southwest corner. A yaga salai Mandap is also there to perform Yaga pujas during festive days. You will get to see Goddess Deivanai Sannidhi in the northwest corner. Other shrines including lord Sankara Narayanar, vadhapuriwarar, Lord kasi Viswanathar, Ekambara Nathar, vedhapuriswarar and lord Chandeswarar are found in the second praharam. Besides, there are sannidhis for Lord Bhairavar and Lord Nataraja. Lord Saneeswara is also seen facing south. While coming to inner chamber, sculptures of Kariya Manickavinayagar and goddess Parvathi devi are spotted facing east. At the entrance of Sanctum Sanctorum, statues of Lord Vira Mahendar and Virabhabu are found on both sides.
